i just met up with an old friend from college for the first time in 5 years and she was telling me how much she missed my writing and how she desperately wanted to read something…cut to the next night after i was out at a speakeasy and got super drunk w another friend…i ended up sending her a copy of “idealism sits in prison, chivalry fell on his sword” and explaining the Whole Fic Thing and she actually loved it!!

Oh, I’m so glad that worked out. I’ve shared with a few people who are actually already into fanfic, but I’d be so mortified if my mom or work or the PTA found out I hold things pretty close to the chest. I also really think it frees my writing, knowing that only people not in my rl will read it. If I ever write something original I’ll change that attitude, but fir my fanfic I really just want it to be escapism…
