At the 1998 Grammy Awards, Pavarotti was too ill to sing Nessun Dorma.
Aretha Franklin filled in on 20 minutes notice.
This is the result.

Not only was the performance done on 20 minutes notice, she had no rehearsal and simply heard Pavarotti’s rehearsal once on a goddamn tape player and just listened, nodded and said she could do it. the most famous opera song in the world, on one of the biggest nights for music in the world, no rehearsal, and she just went out and did it.

that’s talent

Why am I sobbing

the bill is one line:

Terminate the EPA on dec 31st, 2018.

you can contact the reps who authored this bill.

ask them what happens to the data the agency collects? what about the current employees? what about the EPA’s powers? What’s their plan?

it would be best if constituents from these districts called! ask some questions and let them know we are not ok with this!

Please please please call these reps and the reps in your own state. We NEED to maintain protection for these species, as it is the only way to preserve the ecosystems that we DIRECTLY DEPEND ON for carbon sequestering, clean water, and clean air!!

FUCK THIS. FUCK TRUMP, THIS CAN’T HAPPEN.

RESIST FIGHT BACK.

Save the EPA. Call your representatives.

EPA doesn’t directly protect species or acres of habitat (that’s USFWS), but it DOES indirectly protect all species INCLUDING HUMANS, by regulating pollutants to air and water.  Rivers CAUGHT ON FIRE before there was an EPA.  You couldn’t see across the LA basin because smog was so bad.  It took decades to clean things up (and arguably there’s still a lot to do regarding lead, pesticides, etc).  Carbon sequestration isn’t really the issue, though it’s related.  Industries that pollute will be given carte blanche to go back to the practices of the 60s.  Not only will we not regulate carbon as a pollutant and try to reduce emissions (which EPA has been trying to do), we won’t regulate known carcinogens, things that cause acid rain, mercury.  Asthma rates will go up.  Rivers and lakes will become unsafe to swim in again.  It’s OUR environment that will suffer.

This is Congress (ostensibly our representatives) considering handing over the wellbeing of the air and water we all need to the corporations that have a profit motive to ignore its wellbeing.

While everything I wrote there is true, I just looked this up and it happened in February, and there’s been no official action since April, so I don’t think we all need to call this in right now.

Played around on Adobe Spark last night and made this with some of
the picspiration I hadn’t used yet (and some I had) for my Occult
October story a price most dear…

And
I think I finally finished tweaking the last two chapters and am happy
with them now.  If you see any errors, don’t blame the lovely @nixsducky or @castillon02 … I kept fiddling with the prose long after they looked at it, and they were both so lovely in their support.
