Yes! Comment on old stories! Tell writers how much you love their work, or what interested you the most about the story, or what you loved, or what made you laugh. A positive comment on a fic will make a writer’s day, no matter how old the fic is.
Especially comment on older works. Even if you simply say you enjoyed it. You’re sending a happiness email to someone.
