Or just simply reply- …what. Because, honestly, …what?
Yeah, but then they might answer me and I’d have to engage with someone who’s reading my story despite the fact that it’s making them uncomfortable enough to contact me and defend themselves from an attack I never made. Think I’ll pass, lol.
Lmao “not all conservatives.” Someone has a guilt complex and is seeing it everywhere and trying to make themselves feel better. I see it all the time with certain family members of mine right now. I’d ignore it, hon. ❤
Yeah, that’s pretty much my take too. In more pleasant news, I got an absolutely gushing comment this evening, with quotes from the story and personal anecdotes and so yeah…feeling better.
Chapters: 1/6 Fandom: James Bond (Craig movies) Rating: Explicit Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: James Bond/Q Characters: James Bond, Q (James Bond), Alec Trevelyan Additional Tags: Bondage, Exhibitionism, BDSM, Consensual Kink Summary:
When James is sent to a bondage club in Amsterdam for a mission, Q sees things via the collar camera he’s never been exposed to. Now… how to tell James that his once virginal lover is intrigued by what he saw?
Chapter 2 and 3 are now up…bringing us to the point where Only1Truth’s art comes in:
Well, they edited it to add the bit about working against the current leadership, so I wouldn’t say it’s spam per se. And it’s not not really a flame…just oversensitive about something that wasn’t about them. I rarely delete comments, and then only if they’re abusive, which I wouldn’t say this is. Of course, if it gets abusive after I ignore it…
Thanks for your thoughts… think I’ll just ignore it for now, but if it escalates, I’ll definitely delete it.
I honestly wouldn’t know how to reply to that, so probably wouldn’t. And it’s weird they didn’t comment on the story in any way. Like, did they read the story? Did they like it? That sounds like a comment someone would leave on a tumblr post where someone was talking about conservatives, but it was left in a STORY, and it just feels.. weird.
Yeah… part of me feels like asking “when was I talking to you exactly?” but anything I do feels like it can just go downhill quickly. I even thought if I wrote “Thank you for reading!” that could be taken as some sort of passive aggressive snub (which it might be, actually, so fair enough).
IMO, it’s not rude to ignore a comment like that. The person didn’t compliment your writing or say anything about the story at all–just took offense at something not meant to be offensive or aimed at them at all. It seems like they’re just trying to pick a fight, so ignoring it is probably the best thing to do.
Thanks. Yeah, that’s definitely what I want to do. And what the hell does Bleary have to do with the current leadership? It was finished long before that was even a remote possibility…
Thanks, semper. I feel better about blowing it off now.
I got the strangest comment on Bleary today:
“Honestly – I’m a conservative. We’re not all like that. (And no, I campaigned as hard as anyone against our current leadership)
It was for chapter 17, which was the argument they have after the movie execs try to renegotiate Chris’ contract in Chapter 16 and Zach swoops in with the cavalry. If the comment had been in chapter 16, I guess I could understand, but I still don’t remember writing any “all conservatives are like THAT (whatever that is)” commentary in that chapter either…just greedy businessmen trying to position things in case *their* worst fears about middle america going to the movie came true. No universal statements about conservatives, certainly nothing from me to the readers (characters can have different views from each other and me and readers… hence the concept of fiction.
I have no idea how to respond. I really don’t feel the need to defend myself and start a fight, but it also seems rude to ignore this person when I normally respond to comments.
This are good defenses for LGBT+ SW characters from Star Wars Aftermath trilogy author. Thanks for @permian-tropos suggests me to make this easier to read.
“ALL OF STORYTELLING IS BY FORCE. NONE OF IT IS ORGANIC OR NATURAL. ALL OF IT ARE THINGS THE STORYTELLERS WILLFULLY CHOOSE AND IMPLEMENT.”
Fucking engrave this on my tombstone.
I see the Star Wars fandom has finally arrived where the Sherlock fandom has been for 3 years….
