Time is definitely the issue, but I had to do it the other way, where I went back and changed references indicating that 2 weeks were passing down to just one week, so I wasn’t forced to make two other events happen out of the order I needed.
I managed to fix it last night, so if I get a chance to write again today (maybe at lunch?) I can move forward again.

Uh, probably not what I’m going for, but thanks. I think I need to change some timing a bit so I can delay something a week or so. No tragic ends required, I think. But I’ll keep this in mind for plan B.
