Sounds like they internalized it. I wouldn’t respond – it could end up in a spiral of “But!…”
Yeah, I’m thinking the same. Thanks!

I got the strangest comment on Bleary today:…
I honestly wouldn’t know how to reply to that, so probably wouldn’t. And it’s weird they didn’t comment on the story in any way. Like, did they read the story? Did they like it? That sounds like a comment someone would leave on a tumblr post where someone was talking about conservatives, but it was left in a STORY, and it just feels.. weird.
Yeah… part of me feels like asking “when was I talking to you exactly?” but anything I do feels like it can just go downhill quickly. I even thought if I wrote “Thank you for reading!” that could be taken as some sort of passive aggressive snub (which it might be, actually, so fair enough).
Think I’ll ignore it.
IMO, it’s not rude to ignore a comment like that. The person didn’t compliment your writing or say anything about the story at all–just took offense at something not meant to be offensive or aimed at them at all. It seems like they’re just trying to pick a fight, so ignoring it is probably the best thing to do.
Thanks. Yeah, that’s definitely what I want to do. And what the hell does Bleary have to do with the current leadership? It was finished long before that was even a remote possibility…
Thanks, semper. I feel better about blowing it off now.
Aw. Thank you so much! Just imagine if Zach had never babysat or instagrammed that picture…how different my life would have been. Because I didn’t go looking for Bleary; Bleary knocked me upside the head when I saw that pic and thought, “Aw damn. Now I have to write it.”
I feel like I’ve made friends because of that fic. Also, I get a surprising number of comments from people who profess to hate kidfics, but love Bleary… It makes me feel like an evil wizard…
What a lovely compliment! That I agree with completely. You’re real good at writing feelings. <3
Thanks! And it was! Jeez I’m still grinning.
That is exactly what I was afraid of and why I didn’t read it earlier, but now I have a safety net. 😀
And if you read it and beta, I’ll have mine 😀
I think I read that but don’t remember, which means I now need to go and read it. Will I want to kill my self since it’s abandoned?
Uh, well I would HOPE fic could never inspire that, but no, I don’t think so. It inspired ME to write the ending, and if worst comes to worst, I could slip you my draft in exchange for edits. It’s not done either, but there’s really nothing of significance plot wise left dangling. I just have a bit more end of story fluff to write.
So by all means, go read it! And then kick my butt so I finish my ending for it.

I want to read Home, but have been putting it off because it’s an unfinished wip, so I’d love it if you did post your ending.
Are you offering to beta? Because that’s honestly probably what I need at this point…someone to read Home fresh, then read my 30k words and see if I’ve missed any loose strings she left to be tied, and then help me decide how to approach the last scene or two, because I’m seriously THAT CLOSE but have lost all momentum (like the original author, apparently). I’d love to have you help me with it. I miss your betaing 😦
And you should SO READ IT, regardless of whether you can help me. It’s a glorious read.

I love it! It’s an amazing story!
Aw! Thank you! It’s been really fun to learn their voices and play with new characters. And I so appreciate all the support from the MI6-cafe slack community.
Maybe tomorrow? I’m in bed now 😦
Maybe…rl will be hitting me hard tomorrow, so we’ll see if I can get away. Dream well!
