for fic asks – 6 through 9 please :)

6. What’s the last thing you read that made you laugh?

I don’t know if it was the last thing, but I routinely go back and reread @drgrlfriend‘s Quroisity if I need a pick-me-up, because the opening dialogue and characterizations are such utter, hysterical perfection.  And then I read the rest of the story because once you start…

7. What’s the last thing you read that made you cry?  That would probably be @television-and-tea‘s Ulysses.  Also perfection.

8. Bed sharing or roommates AU?  I can go either way… bedsharing is sort of intense version of roommates so I don’t see them as opposites.  I probably prefer bedsharing, though.

9. Fake dating or arranged marriage?  Fake Dating….EVERY DAMNED TIME

for Never Have I Ever – how about a busted fic? (in case you don’t know that term – couple in secret relationship gets found out by someone else. XD)

Hmm.  You know I’ve never really done that.  The closest is probably Assumptions, where Zach accidentally observes Chris having sex with a guy, and it totally turns everything he thought he knew about Chris on its ear.  But Chris isn’t really in a relationship with that guy, so I’m not sure it counts.

If I did  that in Pinto, I’d probably go back to early Trek days for the setting and have the cast discover that they weren’t always just running lines together.  If I did it for 00q, Eve would definitely be the one to discover them, and be outraged that they’d managed to hide it for so long from her, because she’s observant, dammit!  If I did it for spirk…well, poor Bones.  That’s all there is to say about that.  And a severely incomplete away mission log…

writing meme – 6, 23, 24, 35

6. Favorite character you’ve written?  God, that’s hard (my babeees!)  I guess Bleary!Chris… especially in the beginning when he’s trying to do the right thing by his friend and not let his own feelings get in his way, but then completely sucks at keeping them at bay.  But I like Assumption!Zach, too (kinky bastard).

23. Most anticipated upcoming books? I’m not sure if this means thing *I* most anticipate reading by someone else, or thing I write that is most anticipated.  If the former, well, probably New York 2140.  Unless you mean fanfic, then probably the next chapter of The Princess Diaries (And Me) or My Pleasure
(fans self).  If the latter, definitely the last chapter of Cleaving, which readers have been waiting on for months (sorry!)

24. Do you remember the moment you decided to become a writer/author?   Well, I’ve pretty much always told myself stories, especially based on beloved characters.  But really it wasn’t until I read Midnight Sun online and it just ended and as I researched it was clear it was NEVER GOING TO BE FINISHED that I got desperate enough to search for endings, and found a wealth of decent fanfiction.  That’s when I realized that I could write down the stories I told myself (this is not my day job).  I started dabbling, and then jumped right into what became a 250k word novel I’ll never be able to publish for money, but that I LOVED writing.  Now it’s a stress release and mental and creative exercise, but very much a hobby.  I generally have to ignore responsibilities to have time to write.  Worth it, though, when things are flowing.

35. Post the last sentence you wrote.  This is from the sprint a few nights ago… “It’s nice, isn’t it?” he whispered.  “Feels good.”
