That’s so awesome. I never thought you’d actually find time to do this. Thank you. I’m just gonna hafta give in and read some of your 007.

That would be fun! I actually love doing these memes, but often have t wait for the weekend.. and if it’s a weekend I’m traveling, well, sometimes they never get done. But I really DO appreciate being tagged. Thanks again!

Or is that just an impossible thing we have to just deal with?

I once tried to block Pokemon from my dash (because they are annoying and EVERYWHERE and when Go started I couldn’t even see things I actually cared about on my dash because of them), and despite all the tools available, that was an utter failure. Tumblr is by its nature a public space where people mash up things they’re interested in, using knowledge of one thing to comment on another. It happens all the time, and frequently with fandoms I don’t know or care about… I have way more SPN stuff on my dash than I’d like. Some people I’ve stopped following because it’s not worth the bit of content I do like to wade through all that I don’t. Even if I like the person. Even if we have shared interests. For the most part, when SPN or Pokemon show up on my dash, I ignore it. As long as it’s not taking over, I can tolerate a bit. I’ve even become familiar enough to get some of the jokes despite knowing nothing about the shows. I didn’t add that Trump video, but I thought the use of it was clever in context. It didn’t occur to me to tag it. It’s not porn, and though he’s offensive, there’s really no getting away from him. So you can pick and choose to some degree what’s on your dash by trying to block tags, but I think there’s a balance. I think it’s unreasonable to enforce your tagging conventions on other people. It will never work. We all just need to deal with the fact that sometimes we see stuff we’d rather not, and if it becomes too much, unfollow. In this case, I think this is probably the one image of Trump I’ve reposted in months. I could try to remember to tag things like this in the future, but I’m not likely to remember, since I generally tag things to find them again, and the main point of that post was the Fest.
