Rainbows in Orion – For Today’s Special Occasion!
After the announcement today I wanted to make a small tribute post: This image shows infrared observations taken by NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope
and the European Space Agency’s Herschel mission. It is a result of combining many different wavelengths of data and shows the complex structures within the Orion Nebula very well. Data from Spitzer shows warmer objects in blue, with progressively cooler dust appearing green and red in the Herschel datasets.Credit: NASA JPL/ESA/Spitzer/Herschel
