11. What are you planning to work on next? or 17. What things (scenes/topics/character types) are you most comfortable writing?

11.  Well, I honestly don’t know.  Part of me wants to finish up my ancient spirk.  Part of me wants to write something short and sweet for Pinto de Mayo.  And then I have ideas for a 00q story, and a story for The Martian (a tiny and nearly dead fandom… I really shouldn’t bother).  Both of those are compelling and really different (00q probably fairly kinky, though also playing with some typical tropes, The Martian being much more traditional and (gasp) het (who am I even??)).  I still have disaster pinto feels, but I really think my pinto obsession has run its course.  Part of why Cleaving is taking so long is my head is in other characters.  So probably one of those, or I might actually start trying to work on some ofic world building for my long conceived faerie/science tale…

17.  I feel like I’m pretty comfortable with a number of character types, and I’m  comfortable writing a range of “moods (kink and angst and fluff), but I definitely gravitate (at least lately) to “dorks falling in love” scenarios.  I think in some ways this is a step backward.  My first fanfic was really a character study of multiple characters, and how they got from one place (character-development wise) to another.  I think there’s a bit of that in my Pinto writing, but maybe it’s not as developed, and more me just smashing faces together.  After a misunderstanding.  Or seven.

Part of the appeal of trying my hand at 00q is to try to develop a mission… some technical/action element.  I haven’t done anything like that in a long time.

yay for writing!

It felt so fucking good, punk! I considered asking you to beta, but I don’t think it’s your ship, and I also think that submissions are “anonymous” for voting, and then owned after “winners” are announced. So sharing it ahead of time is probably not allowed. But I feel like a winner regardless, just for submitting.

It’s not my fandom, but you can always ask, especially if it’s something short.

I accidentally wrote four hundred words last night because I was like, “well, this won’t go anywhere,” but it did. I might add it to the story I’m working on, but even if I don’t, it was a nice feeling to just write a bunch of words in a row. I’m editing a fic now and it’s nothing but stressing over commas and trying to fix sentences that don’t make any sense. I mean, I enjoy editing, but it’s a different feeling than just sitting down and writing.

Yay you!   400 is amazing.  And I know you do a great job with my sentences that don’t make sense, so I’m sure you’re doing the lord’s work with this one, too.

If I thought it wouldn’t have potentially disqualified me in the challenge, I would have totally hit you up.  I was excited, and wanting to share.  But thanks for your assurances…it’s good to know.  How do you feel about The Martian?  That’s my latest obsession.

Oh no, that sucks! I hope your meds work and you’re able to get some rest. Chris and Zach will wait for you. <333

It does suck, but I think I might be slightly better tonight than last night. And I know they’ll wait, but they’ve been in that tub a long time. They probably look like raisins now. Not at all sexy. Sigh.

Thanks for the well wishes though!  I appreciate the support.
