This blogger is aware that she will not ever see advertisements on AO3, and that her personal data and reading preferences won’t be sold to advertisers in order to raise the money that AO3 needs to pay for the services they provide.
This blogger is aware that AO3 is, and has always been, a labor of love; by fans, for fans, and not for profiting off fans – and this is what makes it unique in the whole of the media universe.
This blogger has NEVER taken AO3 for granted, and has ALWAYS been damned glad to have access to it. Even in years when this blogger didn’t have the means to support it financially.

AO3 is an archive of the content fandom has produced, not a curated collection. The point wasn’t to be a home for GOOD fanworks it was to be a home for ALL fanworks, to provide free access to them and preserve our history as a subculture.
This blog will never apologize for supporting that.

There are only thirty days left before writer sign-ups close for the 2017-2018 00Q Reverse Big Bang Challenge.
The challenge has 23 Artists signed up to create prompts for writers to claim. Many of our artists will be doing more than one prompt! Currently we have 25 writers signed-up for the challenge, so pretty much a 50/50 split between artists and writers, at the moment.

I’m sure many of you have heard about the Fandom Trumps Hate Charity Auction happening right now (and if you haven’t, check out their site and FAQ here) which is raising money for charities, such as The American Civil Liberties Union, the Anti-Defamation League, Border Angels, Planned Parenthood and a dozen or so other wonderful charities with amazing causes.
So what does that mean for you? Basically, there are some amazing people offering to create all sorts of James Bond things for you…in exchange for a charitable donation, of course! As far as I can see, this isn’t limited to 00Q, but be sure to read the participant’s OFFER PAGE or contact the creator to see if they are offering additional pairings or general content!

Vera Rubin, the astrophysicist responsible for confirming the first existence of dark matter, died on Sunday night at the age of 88.
Carnegie Institution president Matthew Scott called Rubin “a national treasure as an accomplished astronomer and a wonderful role model for young scientist.”
Rubin and her colleagues observed galaxies in the 1970s, they learned the motion of stars is a result of a “material that does not emit light and extends beyond the optical galaxy” — also known as dark matter.
Swiss astrophysicist Fritz Zwicky proposed the idea of dark matter in 1933, but Rubin’s groundbreaking work subsequently led to the confirmation of the material.
This finding is what led to the discovery that 90% of the universe is made up of dark matter, a finding some colleagues felt was overlooked and deserving of a Nobel Prize. Read more
