Pinto Princess Teaser Time
It’s time for your The Princess Diaries (And Me) Chapter 10 Teaser!
“Let’s be honest, you’ll be the better King between the pair of us, anyway.”
“I don’t know about that,” Chris countered, shaking his head. “You have more firsthand experience with this governing stuff than I do.”
“And you know more about taking the moral high ground, being fair and compromising. Your stories taught you all of that.”
“Fairytales don’t teach you to be a leader,” Chris said, “I’m a total city slicker and that whole place is like this idyllic utopia straight out of a Disney movie. I don’t know that I could do what my Aunt does. I don’t know that I could always be so good at listening, sit for hours in the Throne Room, trying to make the people’s problems go away.”
Zach tilted his head at that, raising his eyebrows, “Wait, she actually sits on the throne and ‘receives the people’ with their issues? For real? They line up to be heard one at a time?”
“Yeah,” Chris nodded, “Do you not do that?”
“Um, no?” Zach laughed incredulously. “That’s some medieval shit right there. I’m sure there’s an office somewhere where people send letters and they get filtered up the food chain, but getting something done like that with five million people? I’d never leave the damn chair.”
Chris chuckled, “True. I think my Aunt just likes doing it.”
“Did you like it there?” Zach asked curiously. “That was the first time I’d ever been to Genovia.”
Chris thought back to those two weeks. Even with the crazy schedule and the culture shock, he couldn’t pretend he didn’t enjoy parts of it, the beautiful quiet countryside, the people, his friends on the staff, the food, and admittedly, the opulent lifestyle too. “Yeah. I did.”
Zach stared up at him, whispering, “Do you like it here? With me?”
Chris pulled his fingers through Zach’s silky hair, looking down at the soft, warm caramel of his eyes, “Yeah. I do.”

Some Sentences Sunday
More of this Survival Trek thing, tentatively called Bono Fortuno.
“You’re going to run the battery down to nothing,” Jim comments.
Spock’s eyes don’t leave the padd, but he nods, “Yes.”
He huffs in annoyance, tossing the spice stick away. “What is that, anyway?”
“I am attempting to absorb as much information as the colonists have written about life on this planet,” Spock explains, “It is logical to make use of the available resources. The padd’s battery will lose its charge in 16.6 hour’s time regardless.”
“So what are you learning, then?” Jim asks. “Care to share with the class?”
“There are many wild edibles in this region, during certain times of the year. I would propose that we locate and scan as many of these as possible while our tricorders still hold a charge, that we can be certain which ones a Vulcan and a Human with considerable allergies can safety consume.”
Jim snorted, “I don’t even know all of my stupid allergens.”
“Dr. McCoy supplied me with a list of compounds most likely to trigger your histamine reaction 6.4 years ago.”
“That bastard,” he shook his head, “What the hell ever happened to patient confidentiality?”
“Given the incidents during the diplomacy missions on Vargus II and Omaticaia Prime, I thought it prudent to simply ask, so that I may prevent such instances from occurring in the future. Leonard agreed.”
“Still, the Hippocratic Oath exists.”
“It was merely a list of chemical compounds, Jim. I assure you, I will keep your strictest confidence.” Spock sent him a look, “We both know Leonard’s version of the Oath is more along the lines of—if I have the phrasing correct—‘Do no harm, take no shit.’”
I have an xkit question for y’all…
I use Firefox on a Mac, and xkit used to work, but now it’s not supported. It appears to also not be supported on Chrome. And not having it is a pain…So what browser are you using and is xkit still working for you?
Are you still using old xkit or the new one? The old one’s junk and not updated. The new one works great on Firefox.
You are my favorite, @suedescripture! That worked!
