I want to reread the ENTIRE series now that its done, just so you know if it takes me (and maybe others) awhile to comment on the newest parts! ILU and Bleary!Verse! <3

Aw Suede! You’ve made me so happy! Yes, several people have said that either they had started over or they will, which was part of why I decided to do a retrospective of picspiration… some of these are canon that never made the fic, mixed in with things I embedded or used in mood boards. But it is fun for me to look back to the beginning again as well. Hopefully it will all hold up for you on another reading.

And just so you know, I recently reread all of Blind Dating. Love those boys, and you. <3<3

Back in the old days we had our little Apple SE, and then my mom got the big gun for her work, the Mac Quadra model, so we named them the Happy Meal and the Quarter Pounder w/ Cheese.

Aw. I love that! I still haven’t decided, but I don’t have it yet, so there’s time. I’m suddenly looking forward to it though. I’ve been threateing to get rid of this one for over a year but keep thinking I can make do a bit longer…

Teaser time!

I know I already posted a teaser for this, but that was clearly premature since I did it three months ago like an ass. Now, here is your Chapter 11 and final The Princess Diaries (And Me) teaser. If you need to go back for a reread, I won’t blame you, it’s been an obscene seven months since I’ve updated. SORRY, I SUCK. There are two chapters left, and I will post both this Pinto de Mayo weekend!

“Good morning, Your Majesty, Your Highness,” Soren greeted, rousing Zach with a grumble. “Majesties Queen Rosalind and Queen Clarisse have requested to breakfast with you both this morning.”

“Nngh, fuck that,” Zach groaned, pulling the covers over his head and curling into a lump beneath.

Anton added, “They’re waiting in the King’s Parlor, sirs.”

“Let them fucking wait, then,” came Zach’s muffled answer.

Chris shook his head, looking to their two valets, “I got this, guys. Give us a minute.”

“Of course,” Soren nodded, and Anton followed him out.

Chris shrugged out of his robe and slipped back under the blankets. The air felt thick and warm in his lungs, but he tucked himself back up against Zach, kissing whatever skin his mouth found—a shoulder.

“Morning,” he whispered.

Zach rolled over to face him, both of them still tucked fully beneath the silken sheets. They bumped noses and giggled.

“No more lazy mornings, I guess.”

Letting out a noise of discontent, Zach wriggled closer, their hands tangled in the space between. Neither of them spoke for long seconds before Zach clawed the covers away to a gasp of cool air, pulling their hands out in the dim of the morning, tracing the ring on his finger.

“So, that happened,” Chris said.

Zach laughed with delight, “I love you.”

“I love you.”

L, U, V

luv you too, sweets!

L – Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one
of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are
characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe
with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in
giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.)

I’m trying to think of a character that I dislike in fandom that I love.  I guess I’ll go with Sherlock fandom and use Mycroft.  He’s too arrogant to really like.  But even in his heavy handedness, he does care abut Sherlock.  And he’s often right.  Though when he’s wrong, he screws up EVERYTHING.

  • U – Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.
  • I did this one here. 🙂
  • V – Which character do you relate to most?
  • In my current fandoms of Pinto, 00q, Johnlock, and Spirk, probably John.  I know that feeling of being pretty smart, but surrounding myself with people who are even smarter and feeling a little frustrated and awestruck.  I’m also pretty pragmatic and have a fairly consistent moral center.  Unfortunately, however, I am not a crack shot, and get woozy around open wounds.  So the similarities only go so far.

Ah. Welp, I got A LOT of that during Blind Dating as well, that Chris was “rescuing” Zach all the time (or that he was in need of rescue in minor situations of distress b/c he’s blind), which really wasn’t the case. I guess people miss our points sometimes!

Uh, other than the Great Beach and Dog Fiasco wasn’t the point that Zach was really very capable and loved Chris in part because Chris allowed him to do things for himself, and got pissy when Chris didn’t (e.g., airport)? Ah well. I guess you’re right.

I wrote Zach to go into dark place sort of during the crisis, and Chris to do it after, when everything is finally fine but suddenly your knees don’t work. I’m definitely Chris in this situation (nearly faint when the doctor tells me my baby who fell on her head will have a black eye but no lasting damage), my husband is definitely Zach. These differences are real, but there’s no judgement in them. Ah well.

that’s weird. I never thought of Zach as weak, just that he was coping in a very internalizing way, which is something I DEF identify with. I think some people, esp those of us who deal with abandonment issues, tend to just buckle down try to get through hard things because counting on someone else is both unexpected and terrifying. That’s likely why Bleary appeals to me personally so much.

Thanks, Suede. I certainly never meant to portray him as weak (quite the contrary). But if you look at the comments on that chapter, a lot of people read it as Chris saving the day and Zach being soft and sort of needing rescuing. I’m hoping by the time the multi-chapter arc was over, people didn’t see it that way, but the fact that some readers had that interpretation showed me that my intent and what was “on the page” so to speak didn’t quite match up. Your read is much more of what I intended, but it wasn’t universal. Which I guess I can’t expect. But still, I love Bleary!Zach and he’s not weak, so I was unhappy I wrote him in a way that he could be seen that way.

    Pinto Princess Teaser Time

It’s time for your The Princess Diaries (And Me) Chapter 10 Teaser!

“Let’s be honest, you’ll be the better King between the pair of us, anyway.”

“I don’t know about that,” Chris countered, shaking his head. “You have more firsthand experience with this governing stuff than I do.”

“And you know more about taking the moral high ground, being fair and compromising. Your stories taught you all of that.”

“Fairytales don’t teach you to be a leader,” Chris said, “I’m a total city slicker and that whole place is like this idyllic utopia straight out of a Disney movie. I don’t know that I could do what my Aunt does. I don’t know that I could always be so good at listening, sit for hours in the Throne Room, trying to make the people’s problems go away.”

Zach tilted his head at that, raising his eyebrows, “Wait, she actually sits on the throne and ‘receives the people’ with their issues? For real? They line up to be heard one at a time?”

“Yeah,” Chris nodded, “Do you not do that?”

“Um, no?” Zach laughed incredulously. “That’s some medieval shit right there. I’m sure there’s an office somewhere where people send letters and they get filtered up the food chain, but getting something done like that with five million people? I’d never leave the damn chair.”

Chris chuckled, “True. I think my Aunt just likes doing it.”

“Did you like it there?” Zach asked curiously. “That was the first time I’d ever been to Genovia.”

Chris thought back to those two weeks. Even with the crazy schedule and the culture shock, he couldn’t pretend he didn’t enjoy parts of it, the beautiful quiet countryside, the people, his friends on the staff, the food, and admittedly, the opulent lifestyle too. “Yeah. I did.”

Zach stared up at him, whispering, “Do you like it here? With me?”

Chris pulled his fingers through Zach’s silky hair, looking down at the soft, warm caramel of his eyes, “Yeah. I do.”
