People who don’t want to read The Martian in case the science is too complicated should be informed that it contains the lines “The best way to store the ingredients of water is to make them be water”, “It is of course dangerous to set off an explosive device on a spacecraft”, and “If I cut a hole in the wall of the hab, the air won’t stay inside any more”.

I love this fucking book

“I’ve said the words kilowatt-hours-per-sol so many times they’ve lost all meaning so I’m going to call them pirate-ninjas.

“So I need to generate nine hundred pirate-ninjas…”

If anyone is keeping track, I fiiiiinally saw Interstellar a few weeks ago. So, I went out and bought The Martian to watch tonight, and it was AWESOME!!!!

GIVE ME ALL THE SPACE MOVIES AT ONCE, PLEASE!!!! XD

omg I just finished watching the Martian with my family for the second time tonight!! I DEFINITELY recommend the book if you liked the movie; the book felt like a more complete story somehow. It is pretty hard science though (a plus if you actually like science!) but it’s also really funny, and you’re trying to write scifi so it’s always good to read your genre!

Yeah I want the book ASAP!!! The movie was awesome, so I know the book can only be better! XD

I’m so glad you liked The Martian!  I loved it when we went in the theater, and I’m seriously thinking we need to own it and watch it again.  I’m really curious about extras.

Have you seen Gravity?
