“Here we see the writer emerging from her den after finishing a month-long project. Fandom-malnourished and suffering from fic-drop, she pokes her head out into the fandom sunlight, looking around wide-eyed to see what her friends may have written while she was holed up, not reading anything for fear of disrupting her muse.
“It will take days before she realizes that those ‘you should be writing’ memes don’t apply to her at the moment. Still clinging to the music playlist she used while writing her last project, cursing the details she forgot to include, second-guessing her writing, she will eventually read again, enjoy art, comment the work of others, in this circle of fandom.”
Why am I blocking while trying to write a sex scene? Like some of my fics are literally nothing but sex scenes, and it takes me 17k words to get to this one and I’m finally here and I’m all “hand, skin…contours…smooth” idek
The story knows itself better than the writer does at some point, knows what’s being said before the writer figures out how to say it.
