Fanfic Author Appreciation Day

captainkatieb:

I follow so many of you, and consider so many of you to be my friends. You’ve encouraged my writing, inspired me, and generally make me want to contribute to this fandom. I’m going to miss people, but here goes.

@semperama gets the first mention. Your fics and writing constantly inspire me to try more. I will be forever grateful for you agreeing to beta my first forages into this fandom and constantly helping me learn and challenge myself.

@ato-the-bean. If I can one day write the way you do – convey the emotion and feeling that you master so well – I will be happy.

@suedescripture is one of those constants in fandom that I loved before I was even in the fandom properly. Your work has made an impact.

@rabidchild67. I am forever amazed at how much you’ve written and how fantastic it all is.

There’s so many more, people who post ficlets, drabbles, longer works. @entrenous88, @loves-pie, @elisa-pie, @cardassiansunrise, @seepunkrun, @moitmiller, @james-tee, @jaylahed, and so many more that I’ve forgotten. Thanks for sharing your words with us all.

Thank you, my dear!  I’m so glad you’re in the fandom!

For Fanfiction Writers Appreciation Day, I want to tell you how much I love everything you’ve written <3 Especially Bleary!!!! Bleary is one of my favourite Pinto fics but also hands down one of the best fics I've ever read and I love you so much for writing more for that verse. I have read it so many times by now, sometimes going back to read my favourite bits, sometimes reading the whole thing. (Also, I want you to know that I just typed "my favourite butts" by accident xD)

Oh, thank you, sweets!  I love hearing that people go back to that ‘verse.  But I also love that you like my other stories.  Thank you for that.  As far as favorite butts go, that seems more like a Revelations Chris thing… 😉

I really do appreciate you reaching out!

FanFic Writers’ Appreciation Day

brendaonao3:

Hey you –

Yeah, you, the one with the full-time job and the spouse and kids and hectic schedule and too-full days and no time alone, with the fic updates that take weeks or sometimes months because it’s hard to fit writing into the whirlwind that is your life

Yeah, you, with the full school workload and the billion and one pressures and the fears about what the hell are you going to do with the rest of your life and what the hell kind of world am I inheriting, who writes in crazy, rushed chunks as a way to blow off steam from all of that pressure and all of that weight

Yeah, you, struggling with just making it from day to day, paycheck to paycheck, who’s constantly stressed and frazzled and just trying to stay above water, who writes epic and fantastical stories because, fuck, the world’s depressing and shitty enough already

Yeah, you, who are all of these people or none of them – who write for fun or for escape or to hone your craft or to be part of a community or because you love the meta aspects – I love all of you guys. In every fandom, writing every pairing. You’re all rockstars.  The stories you give us, the joy and care and emotion and catharsis you bring with every word and every story, are a blessing and a gift, and I thank every single one of you for all the time and effort and love that goes into your work.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. <3333

Fanfic Author Appreciation Day

How can I even begin when I’m in fandoms that are so full of such talented people.  But I’ll try, because you all give my life so much.

Pinto/Spirk

@suedescripture: From the fandom classic Failure to Communicate to the newest The Princess Diaries (And Me), and the soul-swallowing Blind Dating, my enjoyment of this fandom would not be the same without her.  And we even interact on tumblr sometimes, which is fun.

@satismagic: part of my gateway into this fandom.  Her The Notebook
and The Vacation still make me smile.

@loves-pie: soooo many great pining Pine stories.  Three’s A Crowd kills me.

So many other Pinto authors I love, classic writers like @semperama and @rabidchild67, and newer folks like @entrenous88, @moitmiller, @captainkatieb, a bunch who aren’t even on tumblr… sigh.  And I’m sure I’m forgetting dozens and will need to do another post later.  I seriously love everyone in this bar.  I just tumblr with some forlk who don’t write and read some folks who don’t tumbl, and have a hard time keeping it all straight.

I’m going to have to do my spirk and 00q fics on AO3, since I don’t tumbl with all those folks.  But I have much to be grateful for, so here’s a start.
